The summer we graduated Marvin Sackett and I married. In 1973 we moved south to Mooresville, NC.  I was blessed with three wonderful children.  Jeff lives in Huntersville, NC with his wife Cindy and two children.  Jeff is a software engineer with Bank of America.  Kelly, my daughter, lives in Andrews, NC with her husband Andy and four children.  Kelly works with me in our business and Andy is principal of the elementary school.  Denise, my youngest daughter, lives in Statesville, NC with her husband Doug and four sons. Doug is with Williams Gas and Denise is a full time mother. Single after years of marriage I went to work with McDonald’s when they opened in Mooresville, NC.  In 1986 I had the opportunity to become an owner/operator with McDonald’s with a new franchise in the beautiful North Georgia Mountains.  I expanded to own and operate three restaurants in Western North Carolina and North Georgia for the next 26 years.  This year I have downsized to one restaurant to give myself more time to pursue other interests. I am twice a breast cancer survivor and cherish every day to the fullest.  One of the highlights of my travels last year was an Israel Sightseeing and Teaching Tour.  This year I enjoyed my first cruise to the islands with Kelly’s family. My youngest granddaughter Adelia is in the picture with me. With 10 active grandchildren I spend many evenings and Saturdays at sporting events.
