Dolby Bennett
After graduating from Dover High, Gary Matthews and I joined the United States Air Force under
the “Buddy System”. While in Basic Training, Gary and I were active together in the Cuban Crisis, but we
didn’t see each other again until eight years later!!!! I served most of my time at Bitburg Air Base, Germany
as a F105-D/F Jet Fisher Crew Chief with a lot of temporary duty assignments in Tripoli, Libya at Wheelus
Air Base. Learned to fly at Wheelus AB and continued that experience afer an Honorable Discharge as a
Licensed FAA Commercial Pilot and as a Licensed FAA Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) Mechanic over
the years throughout Greater Cincinnati, Ohio and the surrounding States…and without saying, lots of
midnight oil in college!!!! Both of those licenses helped me find work in the aviation industry as well.
My first marriage didn’t work out too well…second time around I met the love of my life in Rhonda
Hall! She and I have been together every day since out first date. She thought she would get rid of my
constant asking her for a date by taking her to church on our first date….needless to say, we fell in love and
have been together ever since! We raised a wonderful family together and now are enjoying an empty nest
while enjoying out grandchildren!!!!!!!
My activities (outside of carrying for and loving my wife and family) include participating and serving in
many organizations throughout the years and still active today in many (You only get out what you put
